I got interrupted during scene near end between father and son where he reveals how much money he had saved up keeping it a secret between them. Anyone recall? Can't find in any if reviews or synopsis written. Millions or nothing?

I just watched this today and he said he had $14,000 and change.

In today's dollars it would be something like $192,800. I often google for an inflation calculator when I'm watching old movies. Puts things in perspective. I used 1945 for this one, assuming the war had just ended.
