only the old movies dared

only the old movies in the good old days dared to portray the Apache, Indians, Cherokees, Navajos or whatever there is as evil villains. now-a-days nobody dares to do so, all such characters in modern movies are portrayed as goody goody saints.

What tribe do the Indians fall under? Or whatever?

The "noble savage" stereotype of later movies is just as ridiculous as the "evil villain" portrait of older films.

As a lifelong enthusiast of the historical American frontier, I think the very best, most accurate portrayal of American Indians was in Robert Aldrich's "Ulzana's Raid" (1972) This movie is like peering through a window in time into the Apache Wars of the 1880s.
