That basket 'casket' thing.......
Why did her father the undertaker use that basket thing to contain/transport the bodies of children/babies? Wouldn't some other material (wood or ?) possibly be easier to clean/disinfect? Seems that wicker (?) would be too delicate to even try to clean and be the worst possible material to try to avoid "contagion" as his sign outside the embalming room said.
Just wondering if this was standard practice back then or what?
