Was there ever a time when Steiger's over-the-top hodgepodge of wigs, accents, and bellowing was ever acclaimed as a great performance?

Or was this always regarded as camp!

This movie must've tanked hard because I didn't even know it existed until it started airing on the Movies! network two years ago.

No idea how it has such high ratings. The "comedy" doesn't work. The "romance" doesn't work. The "thriller" doesn't work. The characters, the acting, it's all over the place .This movie is a total disaster.
