Disappointed

Just watched this, was looking forward to it as I have been reading up on Hopkins and witch trials in general of late. For 18 months Hopkins and Stearne terrorised the east of England, supposedly executing 200 or so people, but we don't really get a sense of that in this movie,it plays out more like a heroic/vengeance tale for the Richard Marshall character than anything.Stearne gets more screen time than Hopkins and is seen as a brutish lout, whilst Hopkins himself doesn't emanate the power and control of superstitious, mass hysterical country folk that I would associate with such a lethal operator.Maybe Vincent Price being his creepy old self was enough for the 68 audience though.I just think they could have made the characters more foreboding,sinister,self-righteous and powerful, like some kind of puritanical mix of Goebbels and Himmler.Sorry guys,I know there is on this board, like every other, people who really love the movie it's dedicated to,I'm not trying to offend and certainly not trolling, but sadly I found this film lacking, given what could be done with some truly monstrous characters. That said I would love if Hopkins got a proper mini series treatment, something with the production value of Rome would be amazing, and evil git that he was,he's certainly interesting enough to deserve it.
