Full on disguises
I thought the man did a respectable job portraying Sellers, not playing on the fact he was reinterpreting the role. That I think, was saved for Steve Martin's portrayal, at which Clouseau's character became less associated with any actor - an idea on its own so to say.
In Trail and recurring Pink Panthers, Sellers does his disguise by using a hat/wig, a fake nose and teeth. Here, it's figured using the full face of a newly donned Clouseau as mask for his enemies will add to the fun. I get it, I get it. Why didn't the narcissistic Blofeld use similar technology cued from the gang in Inspector, I wonder, What films were showcasing these possibilities more fluidly? Because once you see Johnny Rainbow and the robbers you know that's not a masked body double, that's makeup and the real man. The idea's there, the impression still holds. Yet, how much of a rip off are we dealing with, having something without appearing glued on.
Supposedly lifelike masks can be 3D printed now which takes a delicate procedure so a face is made from the "blobs of plastics" and looks slightly bigger.
