If the end: Maybe I'm stupid, but did'nt the Russians take out of the film from the capsule before they sent it up with the balloon. And if so, what happened to the movie?
I have the same question. If the Russian commander removed the film, shouldn't he have - jointly with the American commander - disposed of the film in an act of "mutual cooperation" to prevent tensions rising?
Seems as if the fate of the film got lost on the cutting room floor! ;-)
Ermmm... What do you think the Russian guy sent up, inside the canister, attached to the weather balloon?
Hudson's Captain was declaring the stalemate, because he had decided to destroy the film, once it was high up, out of harms way. That's why he forced Jones to hand over the film, after Jones got it back off Vaslov.
