Not me. She was wonderful in The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter. Alan Arkin is always wonderful. I thought this is not a good movie but the acting saved it, somewhat. I would watch it again just for the acting. I've loved Chuck McCann since I was a kid. All around the acting was superb but it didn't save a bad vehicle.
I had no idea that Sondra Locke had such range and ability until I watched this film for the first time last night. Very impressive performances all around, especially hers. Recalling some of her performances in the 70's and 80's, it is now evident her talents were underutilized in those Eastwood films.
Most people have been extremely unfair to her! I was a teenager when I saw this, so I was fully aware of Sondra Locke's talent.
Later, I'd see where people were attacking her, claiming that she was relying on Clint Eastwood. Critics had taken note of her much earlier. I always felt badly for her that she was unfairly criticized by people ignorant of her accomplishments.
"A Reflection of Fear" (1973) is a thriller worth checking out, especially for Sondra's performance.
For a very different role from those, I like her as the haughty beauty in "A Feast of Blood", a "Night Gallery" episode.
*** The trouble with reality is there is no background music. ***
People sure do like to badmouth her. It's almost like she cut off Eastwood's manhood, or something. To tell you the truth, I've never been all that impressed with Eastwood; his directing, anyway. A few things maybe, but I feel that he's a bit overrated. Sondra Locke has always been a fairly decent actor. I met back in the 80s. She was very pleasant.
