What was Paulette thinking?

Okay, I typically can see where movies come from in terms of romance, but this one kind of pissed me off. How can she be so desperately in love with revenge, you know, to avenge her wonderful, marvelous husband that I am sure nobody can replace and she will NEVER forget... and turn around and fu*k (or maybe just lay with in a rather sexual way) Silence? The very person she is hiring for blood, for blood of her husband, she sleeps with. Wow, what a filthy wh**e IMO (and also my girlfriend said the same thing). And she was black? Come on.... how is everyone so attracted to that woman during a time of racial injustice? I am not sure if he was ramming her chute or what, you know, its not like really said. Some implications, but not really said. But she showed him her dirty pillows, which in my book constitutes unfaithfulness, especially right after her husband was murdered in cold blood. Maybe her and her husband were sexually reprieved? Where is the integrity, woman!? That was my only complaint... maybe along with the bleakness of the ending...but mostly this XD

PS... I am a bit drunk right now./Please exuse me.. and this is my opinion, and basically serves for some moral integrity...

Its a jungle out there.

I think she may have siezed her first chance of some comfort despite her circumstances. Remember the characters are people of their time and got by in their own way. oh and people were attracted to her because she is clearly a very attractive woman if a morally ambiguous one. I do agree the ending was bleak but i dont quite understand the hystrical people on this baord who apparantly broke down in tears (and wept with sorrow) at it. Not as good as i thought it might be, i do like snowy westerns like McCabe and mrs miller/the claim but it was okay.
