Why oh why does the British edition of this British movie have, as it's only extra feature, the US trailer where the film was entitled 'The Devil's Bride'?

If you want to see the British trailer and hear the commentary recorded by Chiristopher Lee and Sarah Lawson you have to order it from overseas.

We are very poorly served in this country when it comes to our own film legacy - can anyone explain to me why this occurs? In the age of internet shopping why do British manufacturers and retailers still think they can fleece us with overpriced, sub-standard goods?

Because of "Rip off Britain" we will prorbaly get a repackaged "Deluxe" edition in a year or two so they can sell it to us all over again.

Personally I have a region free dvd player so ordered it from the USA but it does annoy me that we are not better served here.

It is, of course, PAL and Region 2.
So WHY CAN'T WE BUY IT in fellow Region 2 and EUROPEAN UNION State
the United Kingdom? Isn't a (safe) European consumer product's forced unavailability
in UK shops a breach of EU trade law...?

Bugger, I wish I'd come onto this board before I bought the film. At least I only paid £4 but it's annoying to know a commentary exists and they couldn't be bothered to include it. Is it the same with other Hammer films? (For future reference)

probably because the rights and ownership to these movies were sold off to foreign companies, when Hammer went belly up.Then these companies re brand and repackage them and bring out multiple" special/collectors" versions to get you to cough up for another copy with the "extras" after you have already brought it.

Its called "squeezing the cash cow until it bleeds" ..lol
