Warning

the film on the whole is very good, direction is a bit pedestrian, but on the whole an entertaining film, though i feel a tad overated, my main gripe is the music, it's so loud, offensive and completely unecessary, the scene where christopher leee discovers the chickens is so over the top, i understand it was made in the sixties, but there are other films from this era, most notably 'witchfinder general' and 'the wicker man' that use music for more subtlely to covey a mood, as i said though its my only gripe

as a side note, what are peoples views on 'terence fisher' as a director, i feel his films can drag even though they are 90 mins max

Just watched this for the first time in years and remembered how annoying the music is. Typical for Hammer at the time by James Bernard whose scores always sounded like he was trying to replicate his famous DRAAA-Cu-laaa motif
