Why have they changed The Devil Rides Out, why change the original title?

IMDB have gone completely gaga over the last couple of weeks with the way they change their titles. This is not the only example. This is driving me completely bonkers as they often choose secondary or even edited releases as the primary titles of movies which doesn't make the slightest bit of sense. I really hope they revert back soon.

When it was shown in the USA after being released the title was changed from The Devil's Ride Out to The Devil's Bride. Probably they estimated more money would come in from the latter titil.

The reason the US changed the title was because 'Rides Out' sounded too much like a cowboy/Lone Ranger film. Never mind that 'Bride' leaves out Simon's importance in the plot as chief victim.
shareWhy? It's a US site, affiliated with Amazon.com. I don't see the problem, though both titles are stupid. "The Devil Rides Out" makes it sound like he's leaving. "The Devil's Bride" makes even less sense.
shareActually really do think the devil rides out sounds a bit too querky -- ever hear of the devil riding out on anything? The devils bride on the other hand tells me it is some devil worship film which is why I am watching it now on TCM. Also because it has one of my fav actors in it too - Charles Gray. So far so good.

I heard of him from the British TV series Sherlock Holmes. He played Sherlock's brother Mycroft.

Originally, it wasn't. It was a Welsh site that was bought out by Amazon after 12 years in existence.
Also, "The Devil Rides Out" is the more famous title of this film, in addition to being the original one.
