I thought I was in for a masterpiece, boy I was wrong!

Based on the reviews and rating here and seeing this as a 1968 horror flick as some describe it as a true satanic shocker, I was expecting something something along the lines of Rosemary's Baby but, boy I was wrong! This movie had me so bored, also it felt truly ridiculous throught it's entire course. The loud annoying music started playing as soon as an intense scene started. The acting apart from Lee and some exceptions was mediocre and so it was the attention to detail. The movie was not scary even remotely. I cannopt take it even as a serious horror nor a horror comedy, it's just ridiculous and it felt like a coplete waste of time. Tanith was a nice subject to watch, tho.

The movie's age is not an excuse for it being ridiculous, but go watch The Uninvited, The Haunting, Rosemary's Baby, Legend of Hell House, Burnt Offerings, The Tenant, The Sentinel... they are all terryfing masterpieces.

One final word, the last review on page 9 here, by glyptoteque is the only one I agree with. This movie feels terribly cheap and I'm not talking about the budget :)

I agree. The attraction and esteem it holds with many people puzzles me. It really is overdone hokum. And Christopher Lee was instrumental in getting it made and thought it his favourite film?!?
