I just saw the movie for the first time and I was wondering, how other people interrupted the ending?

Did Morley and Lavinia switch places? Or did Morley die while trying to escape his death? I mean did Lavinia take his life without him knowing, or as a bargain so he didn't really die.

Morley was actually Lavinia all along. Even Lee said his reaction was basically "What?"
