Does anybody else only want to see the "Doll on a Music Box" part?

I bought the DVD (this was a little bit before YouTube, if I remember correctly) simply for that particular scene. It's not that I don't care for the rest of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, but the "Doll on a Music Box" segment always (besides of course, the freaky Child CatcheršŸ˜) stood out as the highlight.

I don't know if it's because I was always amazed by Sally Ann Howes because she's so beautiful and has such a sweet, angelic singing voice. Maybe I'm turned on (no pun intended) by her cute dirndl outfit and the nice little touch of her standing with one of her heels up.

Also and more importantly, the fantastic choreography while portraying a mechanical object. You have to imagine how complex and intricate (apparently, Sally Ann Howes did that sequence in a single take) it must be to quickly contract and relax your muscles enough to cause a jerk your body. In essence, Sally Ann was the godmother of "popping":

I love the scene and I love the song but the 'clicking' for want of a better term when she moves her limbs is a bit of a put off for me. I have the OST version on my phone and listen to it all the time.

We have to show the world that not all of us are like him: Henning von Tresckow.

I remembered that scene for years as a child even through my teens.

Of course, there wasn't any DVD, but when i went to the local library and we could check out the Vinyl Albums, i listened and re-imagined that song for a very long time.

She was perfect..

I didn't realize until just watching it again recently, how funny it was, when she was re-performing the Music Box Song, with Dick Van Dyke, and shoved him into the mirror he was caught up in..

This is the one scene I will watch whenever the movie is on even if I don't watch the rest of the film, it is just so brilliant!
