we need a soundtrack

I think its great that this film has finally gotten a dvd
release. I think this film & Catch 22 were so far ahead
of their time that audiences are still trying to catch up.

The only problem is that incredible soundtrack (with the
Byrds song being a highlight) is not available. I was hoping
for a cd with the dvd but I guess I should just take what
I can get.

Ocean's 12 - not the greatest movie. But - I can't stop listening to the soundtrack. Track 15 of the Ocean's 12 soundtrack is called "Ascension to Virginity" by David Grusin and I believe it is from this film "Candy". I am going to try to get a hold of this DVD and take a look.

It is Ascension to Virginity from Candy.

This was one of the first movies to be rated "R" by the new rating system...and coincidentally the first "R" rated movie I ever saw.I loved the soundtrack, and thus it became the first LP I ever bought. Now if only Ewa Aulin had lived next door.I still have the LP.No turntable though.I taped the movie some years back off late night TV.Would like to snag the DVD though. The movie was pretty tame as I recall..about as much nudity as a Superbowl halftime show.Caught the very end a couple years ago on one of the movie channels.

It's surprising just how many people love the off beat music in this film. It might be worth investing in a record player just to get the soundtrack off ebay. It could go well with my 'Barbarella' disk that has been hanging on my wall for years.

I still want a CD release though.

I saw the movie when it came out in 1968. Ewa Aulin was about the cutest thing I had ever seen. But the best part of the movie was the music. I can't remember if I bought the vinyl or borrowed it, but I still have my copy on reel to reel tape. Maybe it is time to transfer it to CD.

I played this soundtrack all the time when I was a teen, but it got lost in a move in the '70s, and I haven't heard it since. I would LOVE to have a CD of music from this film again!
