fooling the censors

I just love that Raquel gets away with screaming "Go f--k your mother!" in Spanish toward the climax of the film. What an in joke on the st THAT must have been!

This has been brought up before here.

The original poster (maybe it was you) claimed that she screams "Chinga Tu Madre" when in fact she screams "Maldita tu Madre" which isn't nearly as harsh a phrase.

I'd have to watch again to make sure, but I watched this with a friend who is Mexican, and he swears she says Chinga tu madre. And I wasn't the person who mentioned it here before.

reply

"he swears she says Chinga tu madre"

He is wrong.
She says "Maldita Tu Madre".
I'm sure he just misheard.

reply

Cool. The movie is on Sunday morning on cable. I'll have to watch again!

reply

I just looked up "Maldita tu madre". It's a combination of "f--k you", and "motherf--ker. STILL pretty potent for a 1968 western!

reply

More accurately "Maldita" or "Maldito" can be described as "Damn".

"Damn" and "f!ck" share the same function as slang terms/curse words, one is just much more harsh than the other.
