how did The Sheriff know James Stewart Had robbed the bank? They had all ridden out of town before Stewart robbed the bank and had not returned to town to obtain that information. Right?
shareRight. But a citizen from the town catches up to the posse and informs Sheriff Johnson that the hangman had just robbed the bank. Did you forget that, or were you watching a commercial station that happened to edit that out? (It's always been in the film.)
Most great films deserve a more appreciative audience than they get.
Exactly. That happens right after the first gunfight.
That's when the sheriff realizes who was the man firing from up the hill
and who helped them escape in the first place.
