I first saw this movie when it was in theatres - I have never forgot Rudy Diaz's face - absolutely the scariest Mexican bandit in the movies! As much as I love Alfonso Bedoya in Treasure of the Sierra Madre and even Vito Scotti in Rio Conchos (that guy could play anything), Diaz has to be the absolute best. Then I see his publicity portrait on IMDB - what a nice, friendly-looking guy! He sure did a piece of acting in Bandolero. Made an imression on me, at least.

That is the thought I have had as well. I am not sure if they had to do a lot of makeup with him, but he sure has an UGLY mug. Maybe the makeup was in the publicity photo because he sure looks a lot different in it. Not "Jack Elam" ugly, but pretty close!
