"News of the Future" -- Tough to Watch in 2020 if You Were There in 1968

Laugh In is available on streaming and though some of it is fun and nostalgic to watch...some of it is tough to watch in 2020 if you are "of a certain age."

I'm talking about the News of the Future, when Dan Rowan in 1968 says:

"Here is the news of the future in 1988 -- 20 years from now."

Imagine. Its 1968 and 1988 is "way in the future."

Well now -- 1988 is "way in the past." Over 30 years ago. It was the year of "Die Hard" and Reagan's final year as President, to put it in context.

There is this, though, in 1968, Reagan was Governor of California, and running for President(against Richard Nixon for the nomination) and it would probably have amazed Dan Rowan to know that Reagan WOULD be President "20 years from now."

Meanwhile: I'm old enough to have SEEN those Laugh In episodes in 1968. But I was just a kid then...and I'm young at heart now.

I remember there was a "News of the Future" SNL skit in the late eighties. First you saw the original News of the Future skit in the late sixties, then compared it with what really happened. It was too accurate to be believed!!!
