Joke Wall sequence was migraine-inducing

For me, the end of the show with the joke wall was quite bad. Everybody would be talking and shouting at once and you couldn't make heads or tails of what they were saying. Somebody would start a joke and somebody else would interrupt with another one. Whenever you could hear the jokes well enough, they mostly stunk!

Jo Ann Worley: What do you get when you cross the Beatles with the Rolling Stones or the Rolling Stones with the Beatles?

Answer: How about a bunch of mashed potatoes(??!!)

I always kinds dug the joke wall. I just saw it as the moment when the stars on the show finally came unravelled and all hell broke loose. But then again I'd laugh me a$$ off at Joanne Worley reading a phone book!!!

I loved the joke wall...I thought it was hysterical, my favorite part of the show. Had me on the floor every week.

I quite enjoyed the Wall sequence shown on the 25th-anniversary special, from which you quoted one joke, because everyone was ad-libbing and just seemed to be having so much genuine fun with each other (perhaps aided by some happy smoke or drink?). When Alan Sues finally gets to ask the question in his question-and-answer joke, after numerous false starts, I love the way Jo Ann Worley cuts in with HER answer: "NO ONE CARES ANYMORE, ALAN!!!"
