I too have emailed NBC Universal asking after a DVD set of the 1968-1971 TV Series & the original 1966 TV pilot Movie 'Fame is The Name of The Game' starring Tony Franciosa
I advised them of the three Leading Stars, the supporting cast (Later TV Stars themselves) & Special Guest Leads...plus the many top Guest stars & the Steven Spielberg, Steven Bochco, Dean Hargrove, Leslie Stevens, Gene L.Coon, Dave Grusin, & Dominic Frontiere Production connections....
Plus Orson Welles was a big fan (hence his narration of 'The Enemy Before Us') & Boris Karloff's final acting performance (in 'The White Birch' episode).....factors that should count in this colour award winning TV show finally being exhumed from Universal's archive for hopefully a DVD release...and maybe a rerun on TCM, etc ?
So many of these episodes have proved to be so uncannily accurate in the various issues they examined back then...from violations of prisoners of war in mock POW Army training camps ('The Prisoner Within'), to spree killers ('The Bobby Currier Story') to hippie cults intent on staging a mass protest suicide during a top secret chemical weapons test by the military ('Love In At Ground Zero')...to a vision of a nightmareish polluted future world ('L.A. 2017')....to corruption in sport ('Brass Ring'), corruption in trade unions ('The Power'), crooked charities ('Give Till it Hurts'), and the Pop music industry ('A Hard Case of the Blues'), plus social decay ('A Wrath of Angels', 'The Enemy Before Us'), and pressures in the showbiz world ('Jenny Wilde is Drowning')....and political intrigue ('High Card', 'The Emissary', 'Incident in Berlin')...to racial tensions ('The Black Answer')....and Industrial esponage ('The Other Kind of Spy')...and right wing private Armies from within ('The Protector') to dodgy Medical staff ('Keep The Doctor Away') ...and many more terrific episodes.
A magnificent TV show so far ahead of it's time....
.....and a tribute to the Three Greats: GENE BARRY / TONY FRANCIOSA / ROBERT STACK
