about Joan Crawford on 'The Name of the Game'

I recently saw the episode of "The Name of the Game" called "L.A. 2017." Crawford is listed on imdb as being in the episode, playing a character called "Board member."

But she is not in the episode, and her name is not in the beginning or ending credits.

The episode - which is long and somewhat dull - was directed by Spielberg, who had directed Joan in the shorter and more effective "Night Gallery" episode 2 years earlier. So I thought, as I slogged through the thing, perhaps she would make an unbilled cameo as a favor to Spielberg. But she ain't in it.

No, she is not. I just completed the same slogging journey through that ep to no avail.

Joan Crawford never appeared in 'The Name of The Game'

she was originally intended to guest in another Gene Barry third season episode, I think; 'A Capitol Affair' but she was unwell & the part Joan orginally had been cast for was taken by Mecedes McCambridge instead.

The data base here actually has a few errors - putting up the uncredited stuntman Budd Allbright as 'man' starring in every episode for one !

....and duly failing to credit Tony Franciosa & Robert Stack alongside Gene Barry as the three regular rotating stars of the show are a few other major errors

While Susan Saint James did appear in alot of episodes as research girl 'Peggy Maxwell' (appearing with all three stars as the main continuity 'face' on the show) she was normally a supporting regular - sharing just the one co-lead with Tony Franciosa in season two episode; 'The King of Denmark' (which was put under Franciosa's segment)
