Geoff - many thanks for that! I recalled the theme as being about the first use of a 7 meter in TV. If anyone can cite an earlier one I'm all ears. And I remembered every note of it. Didn't much remember the show though, but I must have seen plenty of 'em if I could sing the theme all the way through to myself!

The theme from Room 222, composed by Benny Golson and Jerry Goldsmith, had a 7-to-the-bar time signature, but that show debuted in 1969, a year after The Name of the Game premiered as a series and three years after the 2-hour pilot.

Jerry Goldsmith's original version of the Man from UNCLE theme, used only in the show's first season (1964-65), used a 5-beat time signature.

All the universe . . . or nothingness. Which shall it be, Passworthy? Which shall it be?

Just got hooked on the show recently on COZI, and I love the theme song--typical jazz tune from that time, but more complicated than your usual TV theme back then. Really enjoy it hearing when the show comes on!
