Desi Arnaz Jr. 'mute' Acting performance in 'Feet of Clay' episode was definitely coached/inspired by his then girlfriend Patty Duke (1970-71 timeframe), who had several years earlier garnered Oscar recognition/acclaim with her "blind/mute" performance in the "Miracle Worker".
