what happened to peggys' hair?

peggy had the most beautiful long blond hair, then, a few seasons in it is much shorter and layered? what happened??? was it damamged??? it was so beautiful in the first sseason

I'm watching the second season right now. Peggy's hair is already shorter but not layered. Judging from season 5 (on MeTV on Sunday's) it does look a bit damaged. Also darker, as though they weren't highlighting it as much. Maybe the producers decided to change her look. It's also possible that, being 5 years older and perhaps not eating well, took a toll on her hair. But I agree it was beautiful in season 1.

It's called the God-awful SHAG. :)-

I'm just watching an episode in season 3 where Peggy has a shag. And it looks AWFUL. Luckily, they let her grow her hair back because the episodes from Season 5 that I've seen show her with her long hair. But it never was as long and glossy as in Season 1.

That wasn't a true shag! For an example of what a REAL shag looked like, find an old photo of David Cassidy from The Partridge Family days...THAT was what a shag should have looked like.

I agree. The cut was god-awful and looked RIDICULOUS! I'm sure the original trimming was simply to cut off split ends/damage, but the shag was an attempt to keep up with the modern look, and a failed one. A shag should NOT have been layered at the cap, with waist-length long bits, and no layers in between.

In fact, part-way through the season (and they seemed to have shot/aired things in different orders, because the shag shows up, goes away, then comes back, they let her (or she chose to) grow it out, and it becomes less obvious.
