MOD SQUAD's Cricket vs CHARLIE'S ANGELS' To Kill an Angel Episodes

Recyled tv scripts byThe Aaron Spelling Studios- Watching a rerun of the Mod Squad, it appears that Charlie's Angels had used the same script with just some minor changes to the story line. Julie get shot by an autistic child at a park where they take a ride on a swan on the lake and she tells him a fairy tale. The boy is a witness to a murder and the murderer is now pursuing the child's whereabouts. In Charlie's Angels, Kelly gets shot by an autistic boy in an amusement park after being on a merry go round horse. Except for the different locations and that each boy picks up a stray kitten or dog, the scripts are identical, except the players are Pete, Link and Captain Greer, vs. Jill, Sabrina and Bosley. The stories end the same.

I was watching Charlie's Angels today and knew I just saw the Mod Squad episode the other week. You're right, they just changed a few things around but it was definitely the same story.

Aaron Spelling had the rights to the script. Apparently, once he bought it from the writer, he had rights to do whatever he wanted with it. I recognized it the first time it aired as CA.

He did the same with an episode of the Rookies, recycling it to Charlies Angels.

I wonder how many times he did that, that no one has ever noticed?

and Kate Jackson starred in the Rookies and Charlie's Angel, so she would have been in both, the original and the recycled.

On The Rookies, Kate was the woman in danger. On CA, it was Farrah Fawcette, if memory serves.
