Is my memory playing tricks on me, or was there indeed a second song he used to sing at the close of the show, and what was it if there was?

Okay. Yes, definitely. I always thought of "Tomorrow, Tomorrow" as the exit song, and was surprised when the "Good Feeling" song was used instead.

The original goodbye song up until 1972 was "Tomorrow", then it became "Good Feeling." The "Tomorrow" song was last sung in a 1976 episode.
