who was your favourite puppet?

Mine was daniel striped tiger-although when I was younger I didn't know what his name was so I just called him 'Kitty'. :)

Daniel was the only puppet I hated. He was such a wimp.

I like Lady Elaine.

King Friday always made me laugh, in a good way. Then, Daniel Striped Tiger second.

I literally liked all of them except for Lady Elaine Fairchilde mostly, but she would get me lauging sometimes too.

Daniel Striped Tiger is a favorite character of mine. Of all the Neighborhood characters, looking back now, he's probably the one I can honestly identify with the most and feel the greatest affection for. I never have been able to understand what people have against Daniel here, as there have been numerous "I can't stand Daniel" comments in these discussions. Someone below says, of all things, that he was "such a wimp". To me, that shows an attitude that's diametrically opposed to what Mr. Rogers was all about: gentleness, kindness, being in touch with our feelings, and recognizing that we don't always feel brave and that's okay.

I loved Daniel Striped Tiger, but let's be honest, Lady Elaine was a badass.

Yeah, especially looking back as an adult, Lady Elaine can be a real trip. Some of the things she got away with were outrageous. I think she was usually motivated by having had her feelings hurt in the past, the point being that people often do bad things because they feel bad. Maybe she represents the frustrated side that most people have.
