Series Premiere Ratings

Wikipedia, which is famously unreliable, says: "the show's first episode had the highest ratings in recorded television history." (At least, it says this as of December 10th, 2009. It could change at any time, of course.)
What the heck could this mean? Clearly, the 'Mayberry R.F.D.' premiere didn't have the highest ratings of any show that's ever aired. Maybe it's the highest-rated spinoff premiere?

Yes it was of the andy griffith show, since this is the last episode.

That was definitely some bad information. The highest rated show of all time, at that time, was the final episode of ABC's "The Fugitive" (August 1967) and that record stood until we found out who shot J.R. on "Dallas" (November 1980). (That record, in turn, fell to the final episode of "M*A*S*H" and the 2010 Super Bowl.) So no, this didn't set that particular record.
