I just got the 1st season and since I don't remember the show the first time around, it is like I'm watching it for the first time. I am enjoying it since it feels like a continuation of TAGS. However, some things I find rather strange. First, why is Mike hanging with Arnold? Arnold is quite older than Mike and is Opie's friend. Second, since Aunt Bee went to live with Sam, she acts as if she and Andy are strangers. They were in church together, exchanged a few words and that was it. Aunt Bee lived in Andy's house for 8 years, is related to him, but seems to have forgotten all about him. I'm sure as time goes on, I'll find more what seems to be inconsistencies, but for right now, I'm enjoying the series.

I never really noticed some of that. I think the idea was for Andy to stick around for a but and kind of fade out. He only makes one appearance in season 2, and then none in 3. I think Andy was only on the show long enough to give it a good sendoff. As for Arnold, he disappears as well. It does seem awkward watching it now. Good show though. Hopefully seasons 2 and 3 get a release so I can toss out my tv recorded ones.

I hope so to as well.I am enjoying the first season a lot. I remember watching this as a child and dont remember a whole lot about it before I got the DVDS.I do remember only one scene from when I was little,everone is talking around a swimming pool.I guess because a swimming pool is fun for a child that I remember that scene.Does anyone know what scene im talking about

It's from the 3 part story where they vacation in Palm Springs. I love those episodes
