What happened to the Italian farmers who lived with Sam Jones?

The Italian farmers were actually in the pilot for MRFD that was the last episode of The Andy Griffith Show. So I think by the time that the series went into production they decided to change the storyline and so the Italian farmers were just written out as never having existed.

...Because minority sitcoms always bomb..later on in the.mid 70s that all changed...
