TV Land

It was actually announced back in 1999 or thereabouts that TV Land had bought the series and was going to run it. They never did -- in the US. Actually, they DID run the pilot, and then stopped. They are probably sitting in a vault somewhere.

HOWEVER

Tv Land in Australia DID run the shows a number of years ago -- someone on my GAMM loop who lives in Australia actually taped them, and converted them to DVD last year. She sent them to a friend here in the US, supposedly converted, and copies were made, but they still won't work on all players, but will if your DVD player has DIVX.

Some of the edits are rather odd, (like the whole opening tag is missing) and the whole last episode of the show is missing, but there are actually a few missing moments in them that weren't even included on the GAMM set that came from when the show ran in Sacremento CA back in the 80's.

Both these sets are better than what the cable station FX ran back in 1992 - those were chopped to ribbons. I have those on DVD also because they are clearer than the Sacremento DVD's.

Sigh. I wish I were smarter that way -- I would take what we are now calling The Aussie Discs and splice them together with the FX discs and the California discs and make a complete set...

Sigh.

Why won't this show come out on real DVD? Everything else has!
