RIP Charles Nelson Reilley
Sad to hear he passed away today. Saw this show all the time as a kid and he was quite memorable. RIP!

I saw the news today, too! RIP Charles. :-(
Claymore is a great character to write fan fic for -- such room for growth!
He was funny....rewatching some match game episodes,I realized how witty he was...I didn't 'catch' all his 'subtle' bits of humour back than, but now, they are hysterical...he was defintely unique. Loved his bits with Bret Somers and his hysteria in "THe Ghost and Mrs Muir'...I didn't relaize he had only 7 episodes in that two-year series, hsi presence was so grand I thoyught it was more
shareIMDB gets a little strange with appearances sometimes -- he WAS in a LOT more than seven shows -- I've watched GAMM forever and treasure my home made DVD's.
I'd say 40 of 50 shows would be a lot more accurate without counting...
Rip Charles. We'll miss you!

I watched the show for years to. But I was surprised when I was doing
research...Charles Nelson Reilley was gay. But despite him being
gay..he was a good comic actor.
SURPRISE! Guess what, Stand. Paul Lynde was too. I'm not sure about Liberace though.

for one thing, 'but despite him being gay..he was a good comic actor' is a harshly judgemental homophobic remark...on not knowing he was gay,he was open about it.
Claymore Gregg was one of those characters you love to hate. Can't blame the Captain for despising him even though he's a descendent....LOL!!!
share
'Despite him being gay'?! As if it's a handicap!? Honey, get with the times! Lots of comedians are gay. Have you SEEN Nathan Lane?!

I'd say 40 of 50 shows would be a lot more accurate without counting... --------------------thanks! sure seemed a lot more than 7 episodes, but I was only 9 years old, so I beleived imdb
shareIMDB can be terribly incomplete. Still, I guess it's a good starting point, and I've been able to look up a LOT of stuff! As it happens I have been a GAMM lover since it originally ran, and thanks to the kindness of other GAMMIES (and the internet) was able to obtain DVD's of the show. Nothing fancy -- taped off TV in the 80's and 90's. Anyway, that and seeing them a million times is what made me be able to pull up the info so fast! I filled out a submission form for all the shows CNR was NOT listed as being in and realized when I was 98 percent done that Reta Shaw (Martha Grant) was only listed as being in NINE of them! I could have been adding HER at the same time! Sigh.
So, sometime soon, I need to go back and add her to the ones that are missing her name also. What I would really LOVE to do is look at every episode on IMDB and add everyone missing. I will, one of these days, but I would rather write GAMM fanfiction... LOL!
You're welcome!
Great show. Funny man.
There was a rumour a few years back that GAMM was coming to DVD from Fox. Let's hope it does. Would be great to see it again.
Goodbye to CNR. I didn't see him on Match Game that often, but I remember him very well from G&MM, and I always enjoyed watching him. I thought he was wonderfully funny on the show...he made it fun to watch.
I would love to see the sitcom released on DVD.
