This show went off the air the year I was born (1970), but thanks to syndication years later I was able to watch and enjoy it. If the GAMM were re-made today, whether for movie or TV series, who would you want to play the leads?

To be honest, I can't se anyone who would play "Captain Gregg" as well as Edward Mulhare, or Carolyn Muir as well as Hope Lange.

However....

There has been a remake of a sort - that is if you know how to access Australian TV.

The name of the show is Spirited" and the remake has Captain Gregg as an 80's rock star that died under mysterious circumstances, (His name isn't Daniel Gregg any more) Carolyn, instead of being a widowed writer, is a divorced dentist. Still two kids - but not as cute as Candy and Jonathan, no housekeeper, no dog, no Claymore, but there is an ex husband who is a jerk, and is definitely geared for maturer audiences. (Pay cable in Australia.) 8 episodes were produced for the first season, and a second season is planned.

Yes, I agree, this show brings back great memories for me as well. Although I was not born until 1977, I remember watching this show because it always started to air as school was winding down for the summer, so when we would have a half-day I would get home in time for lunch and watching this show. I wish it would come to DVD.
