Why is it a bunch pof people always say the shows made in the 1060's all had producers and characters that must have been on drugs????
H.R. Pufnstuf
The Bugaloos
Lidsville (though a 1970's show)
Green Acres
Batman
The Banana Splits
Scooby-Doo
and several others
Okay, some cartoons did mention drugs like Sabrina and The Groovie Goolies, bbut those were PSAs that were anti-drug to teach kids NOT to do drugs.
first episode of H.R. Pufnstuf. "Just a dream from yesterday", one of the characters on Living Island tells Jimmy "Don't eat those bad mushrooms".
On The New Scooby-Doo Movies in the episode with The Addams Family, their all dining together and Shaggy sees something on the table float up in the air and levitate in mid-air and Shaggy then exclaims "Man, what a trip this is".
Let's start with Scooby Doo-the most obvious. Did you ever notice that Daphne and Fred are always sneaking (guess why ?), Thelma does her own thing, and Shaggy always has the munchies ?
H.R Pufnstuf, Lidsville, and the Buggaloos all took place in what can only be deemed a drug induced fantasy.
The Banana Splits were all dressed to look like dopers-the droopy eyes, blue colored lenses on their glasses, and that they were always uncoordinated-falling down.
Green Acres laid hints that Oliver was the only one not partaking in what everybody else was sharing.
Batman-off target on this one. Batman was a pedophile TV series. It was adressed in the Batman Beyond series. Barbara Gordon says "I was only thirteen when I became involved with him, that's not why I'm mad at him. He knows what it is."
