I was just watching an episode the other day with my 9 year old, and she mockingly told me she how she felt sorry for me because this was all we could watch in the days before cable. Damn, she was right. This show was the pits. And that Danger Island thing was god-awful.

Jgroub, you've just forgotten how to have a good time. The show wasn't awful, you've just become jadded in your old age. This show was sweet and nice and makes you feel good.

Amen!! I wish I could trade paying this mortgage every month for watching this in my jammies on Sunday morning with a bowl of cereal back in the 70's! Eventhough it was well into reruns when I was small,that's a trade I'd make all day every day! Lol!!

It wasn't awful. It's just that you were watching the edited down syndicated version ( I believe with bits mixed in different orders than the original one hour versions along with certain cartoons that weren't in the original one hour network version and also bits cut completely out of the syndicated version that was in the original one hour network version).
Even as a little kid, I could tell the syndicated reruns weren't as good as the one hour Saturday morning version I originally saw.
If you and your daughter could somehow see the original version, that's much better, imo.
And she might even like that version.

My kids feel the same way and I feel that way about some of the shows they watch. But I look at these shows and think how fun they were to me as a kid all of them this one. Land of the list shazam the syd and Marty kroft shows. Like the sea monster one there all good campy fun.
