Reeds weeding ring

First off, you might want to fix the typo in the headline. "Weeding" ring instead of wedding ring. :-)

I've seen episodes off and on when he doesn't wear it, but I haven't noticed it disappearing for good at any specific point. If I think of it, I'll see if he wears it (I'm currently watching Season 7, along with MeTV).

I'm watching "A Fool and His Money" (s5e21) and Reed has no ring. Someone else noted that it's around season 5 that it seems to disappear. I'll have to keep watching to see if he wears it again in later episodes/seasons.

I've also noticed that he wears gloves relatively often around the same time. Not just once in a while, but frequently. I realize some of these episodes were depicting winter (long-sleeved uniforms and jackets), but Pete never wears gloves when he drives, and it doesn't seem to be that cold.

I wonder if there is/was a story behind the ring and/or gloves.
