Did he have one?

In the dvds I have been watching lately, I have heard him give the name of his wife (Mary) and kids (Billy & Elizabeth) but I don't think I have ever heard what his first name is. All we hear is the nickname "Mac".

Even Imdb lists it only as Sgt MacDonald.

Did I miss it or did they just never give him one?



Never explicitly said by the characters but I think his son is referred as Bill Jr. when he appears late in the run of the series.

His full name is John Jacob Jingleheimer MacDonald.

wasn't William Boyett who played McDonald, a producer? It seems I used to see his name on several television shows as Miller/Boyett.

It was "Old".

William Boyett wasn't the guy involved in Miller-Boyett Productions.
