He is about half the episodes of the classic Highway Patrol series with Broderick Crawford, generally play Crawford's sidekick/partner/sergeant. This while he was occasionally working for Jack Webb on the original Dragnet, and playing cops elsewhere!
He is VERY easy to spot - the body language/movement is instantly recognizable!
