Just heard that Martin Milner died today after a long illness. He was only 82, which--in today's world--is still pretty young. RIP, and thanks for the great memories.

No. The expected maximum age for the majority of humans who don't have major health problems or other dangers is currently 84 years for males.
So he bounced up very near that. NO WHERE near "young" in any description or concept.
About 25% of males can expect to get near 90, and 10% can hit 95.
