scope the "memorable quotes" section .... some naughty lines by Mr & Mrs McBee.... i guess the hays commission was kaput by 1967. i guess its no surprise that the sound & music was done by S&M Productions....
It's a bit shocking to see Sally Field play a prairie horn dog chasing "three legged boys", a Westward Ho if you will. However, she is treated gently compared to women in other Westerns made in the sixties and seventies, which often showed gratuitous graphic violent rape. Anyway, Sally is a little ray of sunshine in an otherwise rather grim tale.
Those were what was called "frosting" back in the late 60's. Silver was the color but it looks grey on screen. If you watch the Brady Bunch reruns all the girls and Carol Brady had them, too. Today we call it highlighting and uses way different colors.
Yeah, it looked like dark hair turning grey, & given how young she was, it looked strange. Also, with the time frame the story takes place, I don't think there were products that could be used to frost/highlight the hair that way.
My mother had her hair frosted in the late 60s. She looked like a skunk. Anything is possible in films even in Westerns. All of the women had 60s hairstyles too with a little teasing.
