War Wagon weight vs. number of horses?

Has anyone ever estimated what the overall weight of the war wagon (constructed of plate steel, it seems), the gatling gin and it's turret, the safe, the gold, the men and all the rigging for the horses might weigh? And whether or not the 6 horses could budge such a load, let along haul at full gallop? And what about the wheels...wouldn't they need to be a far different type than a typical wagon wheel? Talk about unlikely!

Also, I think the wagon as it is shown would be very top heavy and unstable.

If it was in reality what it was supposed to be you are absolutely right -- it wouldn't budge with six horses. Why it was made of wood in the movie.

Not to mention that armed robbers willing to shoot people would be unlikely to hesitate to shoot horses. That vehicle would be stopped in short order.

True enough, but the real protection for the War Wagon is the armed guards on horseback. The armor and Gatling gun are just to keep Frank and his gold safe until the guards can finish off the robbers.
