The doll!!!!!!! If I knew a drug - filled doll were in my house, I would contact the police IMMEDIATELY and let them handle everything....especially if I were blind.

***SPOILER**** Her waiting so long to do so, if she ever intended to do so, proved futile, since they cut her phone cord.

She didn't know it was drug filled, and for most of the movie she didn't know where it was (the girl had borrowed it). Once she knew it was in her apartment and the bad guys were after it, she knew it was the only thing keeping her alive, because once she handed it over they would probably kill her.
