A little trivia

The original play was written by Frederick Knott, who also wrote Dial M for Murder.

The original stars of the play were Lee Remick and Robert Duvall. I heard that Lee Remick left the production even before it opened but I couldn't find any info on that.

In the 1998 revival, you'll never guess who played Roat - Quentin Tarantino. Marissa Tomei played Susy.

I would have like to have seen Tomei but Tarantino couldn't act his way out of a paper bag.

reply

no doubt that's why he became a director.

Now uploading a paper bag to Quentin Tarantino (for him to act his way out of)

Lee Remick and Robert Duvall did it on stage in the mid-60s.

reply

Yes, I would have loved to see that.

Someone gave you inaccurate information. The show ran for a year, and Lee Remick stayed with it for the duration of its run. She received a Tony Award nomination for her performance.

Robert Duvall, however, left the show before it closed; he was replaced by James Tolkan.

The 1998 revival wasn't as successful as the original production; it ran for three months. Marisa Tomei received favorable reviews, but Tarantino did not.
