Saw this one for the first time last week. The cinematography and actors are great. But is it a comedy? This is an "end of romatic love" film. When Hepburn agreed to do this film, she commented "Even five years ago this film could not have been made." Of course, compared with "Desperate Housewives," this topic is very dated but consider the era. This one left me with a twinge of sadness, even today.
shareI would hesitate to compare this to Desperate Housewives. It is very real and very hard to watch. I saw this when I was younger and single; I don't know if I would want to see it now which is a testament to how strong it is.
And, heck, Audrey Hepburn and Albert Finney! She is impeccable as always, and he is the perfect bad boy.

My wife and I who have been together 37 years were very much able to relate to this film.
Big different neither one of us had ever cheated and we never came close to breaking up.
