oh wow, that's Mr. Feeny from Boy Meets World!

ok so I was wondering if that nerdy looking husband in Two For The Road was in fact Mr. Feeny....and he totally is! I just thought that was the most interesting thing ever. Did anyone else recognize this?

That's the wonderful William Daniels, Tony Award winner for his marvelous portrayal of John Adams in "1776" on Broadway (he also did the film version). He also starred in the series "St. Elsewhere," and provided the voice for Kit the car in "Knight Rider." I adore him.

He was also in the Graduate!... Did anyone notice him in it? I think he played Dustin Hoffman's father. His voice is so noticeably unique.

reply

LOL, William Daniels has been around long time. He was Dr. Craig in St. Elsewhere and the voice for the car in that series with David Hasselhoff.

I just looked at his imdb resume and he was/is one busy guy! He did this movie the same time as The Graduate and The President's Analyst (a favorite of mine) and starred in 'Captain Nice', a very short-lived 'Get Smart'-style superhero comedy.

Eleanor Bron played his wife here, doing a very credible American accent. They did a great job in this movie - if I were riding with that couple for more than a mile I'd run screaming from the moving car!

I used to watch Knightrider as a kid and never realised William Daniels was the voice of the car when I first saw the movie.

I was going to comment on how depressing it is that William Daniels is recognized as Mr. Feeny in Boy Meets World. But, on second blush, anyone who watches this film and the series is, I suspect, young and fairly sophisticated. So, as Martha Stewart says, "That's a good thing."

Give thanks for a little and you will find a lot.

Well said, gaelicguy lol.

Mr. Feeny is one of his most prominent roles in the past fifteen years.

William Daniels also appears in a pair of Warren Beatty flicks, The Parallax View (supporting role) and Reds (cameo).

My 'package' is as big as a cell phone...an '80s cell phone.

For many of us JOHN ADAMS is his best role period.
I also saw the Broadway version as well.
Shame how that disgrace NIXON made them cut the song "Cool Considerate Men."
I like him on St. Elsewhere as well funny how no one on that show was ever named Michael. I guess because of KNIGHT RIDER

Just one correction - William Daniels didn't win a Tony Award for 1776. He wasn't eligible for a "Best Actor" nomination because his name wasn't listed above the show's title, and he refused to accept a nomination for "Best Featured Actor." As you can imagine, there was much controversy about this in 1969. As for "Best Actor in a Musical" that year, Jerry Ohrbach won the Tony for Promises, Promises.

In 1974, I saw Daniels opposite Glynis Johns in A Little Night Music, and it was great to see him as a romantic lead. He was terrific.

And of course, he won two "Best Actor" Emmy Awards for St. Elsewhere.
