Not as Bad as From the Earth to the Moon (1958)
Not a gem either. This one fits in fairly well with Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines and The Great Race and Those Daring Young Men in Their Jaunty Jalopies... Only this one is somewhat less fun. The whole business of making fun of the Victorians is of some value if you're up for that sort of thing, but the other films have generally wall to wall action and some more likable characters at the center of it all.
Also known as Those Fantastic Flying Fools, this one sets up its attempted Moon voyage for most of its running time and has a fairly lame payoff. But it is not as utterly dull and stupid as From the Earth to the Moon.
