Remake.
If the movie were remade, would you say it should be remade after:
a) The original movie
b) The musical
c) Nothing (no remake)

If they made the broadway musical into a movie, for some reason, I can't the image of James Marsden as Graydon out of my head.

I've often thought among this string of movie musicals that Millie would be a fantastic one to do.
shareB- Musical
Hairspray worked a second time around on screen very well, even if The Producers didn't. Hollywood needs to get this and Wicked made.

Actually they are talking about making Wicked into a movie! It should be coming out before 2012...
They just do that to get sales to rise again. But I thought Hairspray and Phantom were great movies! Haven't seen Producers, but I've heard it is good. Sweeney Todd is to bloody disgusting...
Why, Judith Tremayne! Fancy meeting you here!
Couldn't agree more, demonbarber.
He said it's all in your head, and I said, so's everything--
But he didnt get it.
Millie Dillmount: Anne Hathaway
Miss Dorothy Brown: Laura Bell Bundy
Jimmy Smith: James Marsden
Muzzy Van Hossemere: Beyonce Knowles
Miss Flannery: Bette Midler
Mrs Mears: Ann Harada
A million sympathies for Jennifer Hudson.
Beyonce does not fit in there, she's not old enough if nothing else. Ann Harada doesn't work for me either. But the rest of that is a great cast! The musical would be a great movie, actually. The only problem is the demographic is kind of small. But it might just be good enough to try.
shareI say don't remake it. I love the original, I don't see why it would need to be re-done.

I think they should do the musical, maybe with the original Broadway cast. The musical only came out, what, 8 years ago? I think everybody still looks young enough. I know Gavin Creel does.

Mrs. Meers - Meryl Streep
I agree with ChucksCherubs. I'm not crazy about remakes, although I guess occasionally one might end up being all right. I'd go with both B and C.
shareI'd like a remake and I've never seen the stage musical so Option A, I guess.
