My friends behind the New England cable access show "Saturday Fright Special" (who totally don't know I'm writing this!) are having their 4th Spooktacular film event at the Colonial Theater in Keene, NH on Saturday July 31st at 2PM. They'll be playing a 35mm print of Son of Godzilla and some great vintage previews during the intermission, plus giving away tons of prizes including an original Godzilla sketch from Stephen R. Bissette (best known as the artist for Alan Moore's run on Swamp Thing)--all for only $10! Here's a link to their fun ad for it (which I stole most of this info from):

If you live anywhere in the New England area (I mean c'mon, it's small!) and are a Godzilla fan, if you're partial to Minilla's adorable ugliness and smoke rings, or even if you just want to see a movie that hasn't played in a theater for over 40 years I definitely suggest you consider making the trek. Keene's about 1 1/2 hours from Manchester & two from Boston, it's actually a pretty cool little college town too so there's enough there that you could make a day of it. Most importantly though if you've never been there before, the Colonial Theater is AWESOME: One of those rare old (almost 80 years!) single-screen arthouse theaters & live venue, with beautiful interiors and most importantly a huge screen for Scope movies like Son of Godzilla. Here's their provided directions, also if you want to call their Box Office the number's [ (603)357-1233:
